Elkhart Lake Summer Home.

Bright and beautiful, this Wisconsin vacation home was renovated to accommodate an extended family effortlessly.

Approach

The clients, a couple whose primary residence is in Texas, wanted to vacation in Wisconsin. They required a home large enough to accommodate their family of 5 adult sons. They requested an easy, comfortable, turn-key space. Enter Peabody’s designer Emily Winters who crafted a 12-room, 2,000-square foot family-friendly vacation home that celebrates the joys of life. Going for a casual lake house style, Emily selected details and materials firmly rooted in local traditions like the fireplace masonry. She chose a neutral palette with shades of blue and simple white ceilings to look bright and fresh. All new furniture was purchased including some local antiques like the vintage books to ground the home with history. The décor like the throw pillows, artisan baskets and woven rugs lighten and brighten and is cozy and easy. Some challenges they faced were adding a bathroom to a converted garage and adding a bunkroom to the lower level. Emily loves the opened-up kitchen with its fresh cabinets. The client’s love the super, easy vibe of the home, and the ease of the process.
